Getting Started

so you're looking to take the next step...

First things first, drop me a line here.
Your first call with me will be a brief check in to determine if I am a good fit for the healing work you are hoping to do. I will do my best to answer all your questions about my style, experience, fees, scheduling, and recommendations.

Your first session will be a fifty minute appointment, in person in Minneapolis or Edina or Virtually. I will have a lot of questions! But I will make sure to leave plenty of time for you to fill me in on anything I didn't ask, or that you want to make sure I know about you. I Will work with you to identify your goals for therapy, the short and long term goals. I leave a few minutes at the end of each session to schedule our next sessions and go over any “homework” we agreed on for the time between sessions.
I recommend weekly therapy appointments in the beginning of treatment, if time and resources allow.

here's what it looks like...

I am and an in-network provider with most major insurance companies, including:

Blue Cross Blue Shield
Aetna
HealthEZ/America's PPO
HealthPartners
Hennepin Health
Preferred One
UCare

You may also want to contact your insurance provider to confirm coverage prior to your first session to confirm your deductibles, copays and any other information about your coverage.

If you do contact your insurance prior to your first session, these questions might be useful for you to consider asking:
What is my deductible and when does it start over?
What will I pay out of pocket (contracted rate per session) until I reach that amount?
Will I have a copay for each session?
Do I have a limit on the number of sessions that insurance will cover?
Monthly Super BIlls
If your health insurance allows out-of-network providers (PPO plan), you may be eligible for reimbursement from your provider. Please check with your health insurance about coverage. I can provide a monthly Super Bill if your insurance plan pays for non-preferred providers.

Client Responsibility

While we will submit your sessions to insurance and work on your behalf to resolve any issues with insurance, you are financially responsible for any sessions that insurance doesn’t cover if all resolution attempts fail.

fees and insurance

Clients who do not want to involve insurance or do not qualify for insurance coverage are welcome to self pay.

My standard fee is 180.00 dollars for a fifty (50) minute session. My practice is self-pay; cash, credit/debit or check only. I do offer limited sliding scale appointments based on income and ability to pay. If you need a reduced fee, please call or email me to discuss this further. If I cannot accommodate your financial situation, I will try my best to assist you in finding appropriate referrals.

I accept Venmo, PayPal, Zelle, as well as Flexible Spending (FSA) , Health Savings (HSA) and/or Health Reimbursement (HRA) account payments.
